Tree stand idea

I am a meat hunter. If I could get venison cheaply i probably would not deer hunt.

I will take any shortcut, exploit any advantage, in order to bag a deer. My eyes are tuned for big fat does, not wide pointy racks.

I am thinking about mounting a gun to my tree stand, possibly a 454 revolver. Some sort of swivel mount attached to a sling mount or barrel clamp then put a laser on it. Point the laser, pull the trigger. I won't even have to tense my biceps. No worrying about clanking against the stand or lots of movement.

Not sure that is legal.

The mount maybe legal here (don't think so) but the laser is a no-no.

Just curious but how is a scope legal but a laser not? Are they not both aimimg devices.

I checked the rules and regs for you. It only mentions that you can't have an "object capable of projecting a beam of light" on archery equipment. I can't access the more in depth regs right now. But you can. Start here...

In some places it is also illegal to remotely fire the gun. Remember the debacle about remote control hunting in Texas?

Illegal in ohio as well, any light or lazer is considered spotlighting which is a big no go.

would be very effective in low light, but useless in bright sunshine.
Have never seen anything in Minnesota laws that would dis-allow it during legal shooting hours.
