Find out his health problems and what he'sdoingabout it.

the barta way

I am on it,that guy kills me i love the philosiphy though
ya no.DONT hunt over bait just becouse its easy that sort
of thing

Major loss even though we didn't agree on some issues. Regardless, he was one heck of a guy and spoke his mind openly as do I.

so whats wrong with him? wondering because hes the only tv show hunter who actually hunts animals, and isnt just advertiser for the latest gun company product.

He had a very rare spinal stroke which has left him paralysed from waist down but he's already shooting his bow ! A very different life for someone who lived such an active life .

he had probably the most honest and entertaining hunting show on tv. he is a guy i think you would have a great time hunting with and alot of laughs around the campfire too. get well and god bless.

I like the guy. I admire a man who will shoot a caribou with a long bow and home made flint arrow heads.
It is a tragedy for a man like that to become paralyzed.
I wish him well.

I, too am on DirecTv. I wish they would put versus back on.

I watched the show. He a hell of a guy. It's kind of funny, he's almost like a living oxymoron. It seems like all the guides get sick of him and he seems to irritate the hell out of every one but then they all seem to genuinely like the guy. One guide he hunted with even said something like "It was a lot of fun to hunt with Tred but I don't ever want to do it again."

Anyway, my best wishes to the man. He does it his way, that's for sure. He's tough as nails, striaght forward and never quits. You have to admire him.

the best and worst of tred barta has to be my all time favorite show..it is such a shame to see this happen to such a great outdoorsman...please everyone keep tred in your thoughts and prayers

disabled hunter

I didnt always agree with Tred but that guy has bearings of high tensile steel. He will be back in the woods one way or another. I have a good friend who lost his legs in Afghanistan as well as his shooting finger. He is working hard to get back to full activities. We spent some good time hunting this season when he was on leave. Hunting is both his challenge and his motivation. He even figured out how to use his prosthetic leg as a dandy shooting rest. He reminds me that Freedom really isnt free. In honor of him I walked two hundred yards in the worst pain ever after surgery just to vote. Like him and Tred hunting was my challenge and my therapy. All my best to those who still go afield despite their physical challenges.Take a Wounded Warrior hunting or fishing. Semper Fi

He is the only guy on versus who doesnt walk up 5 feet away from a trophy animal and takes it with a .300 win mag like half the people on the channel. Plus i think he is the only person on that channel who doesnt settle only for a trophy animal

Not much new info.

He definitely does things the hard way. But I respect that. I tire of these guys that sit over a dirt road that serves as a feeder for deer. Then they shoot the biggest buck that is dumb enough to eat at the same place he has been eating for three years. It's like going to the range to bag a trophy. Not much sport in it but the venison tastes good.
