Treated cloth

I used to have an oil treated cloth I used to wipe down a gun after handling before putting in the rack or case but it has disappeared. May have been silicone treated? Any suggestions for a replacement? Guns range from antique muzzle loaders to AR. gunslinger

Are you talking about a silicone impregnated gun and reel cloth? Should be able to get one at Academy, Bass Pro, Cabela's, maybe Wal-Mart even. I would think anywhere that sells guns or maybe even fishing equipment would have one. They are pretty cheap, too. Handy to have around. In a pinch a regular old oily rag would work.

My dad always had a Rusteprufe chamois cloth in a small jar. I have one as well. Has always kept the rust at bay after handling our guns.

Rags, treated cloth, CLPs....

There are a few top brands in different formats, prices, styles, etc.
Most outdoor & sporting goods stores have at least 1/2 treated cloth packs.
Hoppes, B-C, Mpro7, Slip2000, FrogLube, RIG's, etc can all do basic firearms cleaning/lube/rust prevention.
I like to use Ballistol & Mpro7's LPX mostly. You can apply it to a small rag or cloth then use it in the field or range.
