Trap with one eye or two

I am back at trap after a 3 yr hiatus. Shooting below where I was then. I am sorta relearning the game.

I have just noticed that I have been squeezing the sap out of the forend so I know I am "steering" again and intend to hold lots lighter.

But......I seem to notice that now my eyes seem to want to periodically crossover. Just for an instant but it messes me up.

Would you advise going to one eye (I used to shoot with 2) until I get the swing and "look" back again and then switch back to 2 eyes or just stay with one eye or stay with the 2 eye and fight the crossover tendency?

Hi Lavan,
Most people advocate keeping both eyes open when shooting trap. Unfortunately I was a rifle and pistol shooter, with a domininant eye long before I started shooting trap, so I too shoot with one eye closed. Using both eyes allows you to use the depth perception that the human body is blessed with, with one eye closed you seem to lose that ability. I have simply been shooting too long with one eye closed to want to switch over, besides I'm shooting well enough with the one eye technique to suit me, so I guess I've learned to deal with the disadvantages. If you can learn to deal with the crossover problem without going to one eye it would be best.
