I'm not sure how proficient you are, JT, but here goes.
First, I'm an enthusiastic trap shooter, not a good one. I don't work at it hard enough to get good, just hard enough to have fun.
Get on down to your local range, tell the folks you'd like to shoot and follow the range rules carefully.
As for small game,the best way for rabbits, etc, is to go out with an experienced hunter for that species and see how it happens.
