transporting guns to AK through canada Experiances?

Hello, im new, just regerstered. My question for the forum is about experiances/ the process of crossing the borders into and out of canada with guns...

I have already done all the reaserch and have the paperwork AND have obtained an "Short Term Authorization to Transport" from the Chief of Firearms BC province...

So I ALREADY HAVE all the legal documents to transport my three non-restriced riffles and one restricted Handgun... I dont need any advice on this process, as I have already completed it, If anyone has any quetions about obtaining the legal documents, feel free to ask me....

My question is about how this process is going to work: At the border... ive been told they will apply a seal/security tape to the opening of the container in which i transport the handgun(this is just what ive heard, im trying to find out if this is true)... If that is even the case do they do this to the riffles also?

Im American Military moving to alaska for next duty assignement, taking my household goods with me, including guns... Im happy to just be able to take them with me, But wondering about them being sealed at the border?

Do they check you again when you exit Canada? do you have to stop and go through canadian border patrol on your way out too?? I mean who checks the seal....

Also about ammunition, I assume i cant take .45ACP ammo for my handgun, but can i legally take 12 guage ammo for the shotgun? Or is it pointless cause its sealed?.....

I guess im trying to find out if i can use any of my guns, shotgun prefered(.45 Glock perfered but im guessing its out of the question)... can i have my shotgun and ammo for protection against bears or whatever if we were to go into a ditch and have to spend a night or something... you know what i mean..

1. Do they really seal the gun case with tape to ensure you dont open it in country?

2. If they do seal it, do they check upon exit?

3. Do they seal the rifles to? If not can i take shotgun ammo with?

THANKYOU

Rob.
