Take this for what it's worth based on one man's 5 minute encounter at Shot Show last year. They were rude, elitist, dismissive, uninformed and unprepared. Other than that, I'd go there in a heartbeat. (All I asked was a couple of questions on the courses and the prerequisites.) YMMV

Try Gunsite or Thunder Ranch. If East Coast is a requirement, email me and I'll put you in touch with someone.

My only experience with them was an IDPA match we shot there just over a month ago. The facilities are strictly top shelf. I found the people to be very helpful, at least in the capacity we asked of them.

I'd attend a class there in a heartbeat, but it's a little pricey for me at the moment. A buddy of mine took their one-day introductory handgun class ($150), which he told me is actually the first day of their five-day handgun training regimen. He said that his shooting improved DRAMATICALLY, and he was pretty good to begin with.

I posted their link on another board for a member compiling a list of training facilities. It drew a response saying that it was a good facility, but that two of their primary instructors had recently left to open their own place. FWIW. John

Thanks for the Info. The one day course is what I was after this time.. Rick check your email as I sent you one about training in VA NC WV or somewhere close.. Thanks again Patrick...........

The Rock went.
The Rock will go again.

I am the guy whose shooting improved. I considered myself to be good. Now I'm better. Can't wait for the full pistol class and a carbine class. Hopefully next summer, since this one in over.

IIRC, just last night on the History Channel's "Tales of the Gun", there was a story all about the training given at Blackwater lodge. They also talked about the upcoming "M16" which will replace the M4 - it's basically just the M4 with an EIGHT inch bbl - I forget the designation. The episode was way cool, as are all the "Tales of the Gun". Getting that series on tape would be the perfect Christmas gift for me.
