I don't know much about the Traditions guns except you're the first person I've ever see post anything about them. I've seen them on the Walmart website but that's it. That said, in your price range I would recommend looking at the Lanber 2079 or the Stoeger Condor. The Lanber can be found at shops or at CDNN.com for around $700 and everybody who has 'em seems to love 'em. I've heard good things about the Stoeger as well and I think it's right in that price range. Good luck!

Lanber

Go with the Lanber.

THe fit/finish on my Traditions is just OK. I knew that going in - I just wanted a cheap small guage O/U for training the dog and the occasional dove hunt.

I have about 5-600 shells through my Traditions and the lever is way, way west of south and very loose - it will be going to the smithy this summer.

For slightly more money go with the Lanber - a lot more gun, in my opinion. Pride of ownership will be greater because of fit/finish.

I purchased one of the Traditions Field models when Walmart first put them on the shelves. I have shot it thousands of times without a problem. They are very good quality guns made by Fausti Stefano in Italy. Much higher quality than the recent influx of "affordable" O/U's being sold today.

If you decide on getting it, I don't think you will be disappointed.
