Traditions barrel stamp

Just got a Traditions Kentucky kit. Hope to paint some stripes on the stock, add a few old brass tacks & maybe rawhide, turn it into a Faux Leman Indian rifle.

But does anyone here really know what this barrel mark means? Yeah, it looks like a proof mark but I kinda doubt that it is. Might it just be something their Marketing People had stamped on to impress customers?

I have been looking for a barrel that meets my nit-picking Metallurgical conservative views. Think this, plus some metallography I did on a CVA barrel in the '80's, plus this Torture video

CIP for "Commission internationale permanente" is an international organization such as SAAMI. It rules firearms proofs and CIP is its proofmark.

PN is for Pólvora Negra in spanish or Pulvo Nero in italian, meaning black powder.

Then, both proofmarks mean that this barrel is tested and approved for black powder use under CIP rules.
