Trade my Sig P220???

I really am a greenhorn rookie here guys so be patient with me.

Here are the handguns that I have:

Colt Python .357
Colt Detective Special .38
Sig Sauer P220 .45

I am considering trading in the Sig so I can get a pistol that can fire the same ammo that can fit in my Colts. I think it would just be nice to have all my weapons to be flexible so I only have to store for emergencies the same ammo. I know this kinda compromises the reason of having the Python if I am only going to shoot .38 rounds but I would also have the .357 for the Python. It is just for emergencies that I want to have this flexibility.

Is there a pistol that fires the same round of the Colts? I really like Sig so I would like to stick with a real good maker.

Suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

MD

To the best of my knowledge, the Smith & Wesson 52, Coonan (sp?), and Desert Eagle are the only pistols that fire the .38 Special or .357 magnum (the last two fired .357 magnums).
The S&W 52 is long out of production. It fired the .38 Special.
You might be out of luck on this one. Then again, the Sig 220 is as fine a production pistol as any made. The .45 ACP is a good defensive round.

Pistols

...or you could get a M1917 Army revolver, which fires .45 ACP.

If this is for "defense", than all you have to do is buy a bunch of P220 magazines - because you don't have three hands.

But what if you live in post-apocalyptic America and one caliber or the others proves unavailable? You've put all your eggs in one basket. Maybe you should buy MORE calibers!

First, croyance is right. I don't think you're going to find a pistol that fires .357mag (other than the desert eagle) or .38sp without having one custom made.

I would also second the motion to keep another caliber. Regardless of how much ammo you store, if you want to go long term, you are going to need to use what you find. And .45 is one of the most common calibers out there next to 9mm.

So I say keep the 220. It's a great gun, my first, and one of my favorites. If I was going into a combat situation, either defensive or offensive, I'd carry my 220.

And as Richard Dawson would say, "Survey says" NEVER . And that would certainly be my reply as
well.:D Reason? Sig-Sauer "Classic P series pistols" rank
among the finest combat firearm's ever produced.:) These
weapons are every bit as "elite", as the Colt Python revolver.
With that said, it looks to me like you have a wonderful
start to a fine collection. So, I would find some other
means to acquire any more firearms.
