Trade-in Kahr Covert P9 for MK9?

I'm still on a quest for the elusive "perfect" conceal carry gun. I've had a Covert P9 for about a month now and think it's a great gun but I wouldn't mind going smaller because it's a little big for jeans pocket carry. Also, the recoil seemed kind of sharp (light weight with 2 finger grip?) for easy 2 tappin. I do like the weight of the Covert P9 for carry in a coat pocket or in an Uncle Mikes IWB in the lower back area. I guess the 2 advantages of the MK9 would be 1) can get a pocket holster for it and carry it in jeans pocket 2) less perceived recoil(?) The big disadvatage (for carry) might be it's weight. I don't know... This is very subjective but I don't have a lot of money for experimentation so please let me know if I'm on the wrong track here.

Also, would the shorter sight radius on the MK9 make it *that* much harder to be accurate than with the P9? I love to target shoot! And do the new MK9's come with the same trigger as the P9?

Thanks for your help!

I had a P9 and I have a MK9. I like the MK because of the size. I don`t think you`ll have a problem because of the weight but it depends on how you carry. All guns require a shift in lifestyle.

The P9 has the Elite trigger. My Mk 9 is the Elite model. The regular MK9 doesn`t. If you find a used MK you can always get the trigger from Kahr and have it installed.

The main reason to trade in the P9 for the MK9 is to get rid of the plastic Kahr.

It appears that the all metal Kahrs are much better then the polymer framed ones.

As for the reduction in barrel length and sight radius, I doubt that either would matter at the close kind of ranges you'll encounter in a SD scenerio.

having owned both, I prefer the P9 covert. half pound lighter, conceals just as easily, the extra half inch barrel length gives higher velocity.

NH, you bounced me back the other way. Gawd, I just wish I had the money to spend for one of each of the Kahr products and... one of each of the Sig guns, Glock guns, etc. Hell, the list is endless. There probably isn't enuf money in the world!
