Tracers in 30.06 last night....................

We put some tracers through the Garand at about dusk last night. It was spooky to see how they bounce around and go all over the place. It was a good night for it, it rained a bunch that day, everything was very wet.
It was wild to see them at about a 1/2 mile out, they shot flatter than I thought.....

We shoot tracer here at my place every now and then. The 30-06 does shoot flater than you would think. I am always in awe at how they ricoche. It is a little scary when you think about all the shooting we do. How many of those bullits are going places we don't think of?

+1 It's a great thing to do at least once so you can get an idea of just how important picking your targets and back drop are. Something like just shooting into a bunch of trees is a no-go in my book.

I guess most people (like me, until I did the same) think they just hit something and fragment or stop.. not always though!
