Figured id ask and see what i get....my step father is searching high and low on a lever action he is dead set on having but cant find. Hes looking for a 45-70 marlin lever action with a synthetic gray stock, stainless 24" barrel. Does such a rifle exist? If so, where can i find one? This guy buys guns like we buy groceries and this seems to be his "holy grail".

Thanx brian, sginks that its outta stock though...i would assume thats a special order and would take awhile to come in...may be his only option. He wont buy used...everythings gotta be new....and gray...lol

I've put several items on my Wish List at Buds and they've all "magically" appeared in stock in a few days time.

They've got a similar model with an 18" barrel in stock. No need for 24" on a .45-70 anyway.

I agree, but the man wants what he wants...lol. ill pass this info along to him and see what he wants to do. Thanx again.

As Brian mentioned, you want the XLR. That's the only way to get stainless steel and a 24" barrel. If he doesn't like the laminate stocks, aftermarket synthetic stocks are available (or have been in the past).

The XLRs have been out of production since Remington took over production.
They had issues milling the receivers properly (among a mountain of quality issues), so they gave up.

However, they retooled for the .450 and .444 actions, as well as the .45-70 XLR, earlier this year. So, new production should be shipping sometime this year.

(Two runs of Model 444s and a couple runs of "new" .45-70 1895s have already shipped, but they were very small runs and completely sold out before they left the factory.)
