Torture test

Good camera work! I think you need to add something to the main post, even if just a summary or whatnot to prevent this from being considered a drive by and getting closed.

Impressive -- a torture test that failed on the 22nd round.

Sorry, but I had to say it. I just don't see that as being in any way a torture test.

For that matter, it didn't go into battery after 15 rounds.

I know a lot of people put a lot of stock in these sorts of videos, but they do nothing for me, and I don't consider them when choosing a handgun. I have two reasons. First, a sample size of one tells me nothing. Secondly, I don't treat handguns that way.

Is there any gun out there that would fail to shoot after being dropped in a bucket of water with a little sand in it?

I think the ultimate torture test would be to see how many proof loads a variety of guns can withstand before beating themselves to pieces.

Or drop the gun in the bucket of water/sand and let it sit out in the elements for a year and then see if it still fires.

Reddog81, have you seen the Military Arms Channel torture test on the HK VP9? It failed after just dropping it in water.

As to the torture test aspect of it, I think its one of the more realistic ones. You're more likely to drop your gun in the dirt or a puddle than you are to bury it in a few feet of mud or drop it off of a building like some YouTube reviewers do.

Nice video. The P-07 is hard to beat. I'm north of 7000 rounds through mine now. One failure when the gun was extremely hot and dirty (the slide was gummed up and even the trigger was gritty from the grime). I couldn't be more happy with it.

Dunno...it seemed to be a valid test to me. The failure appeared to be mag related, can't fault the gun for that.

I wouldn't do that to my guns, but I am willing to watch people do it to theirs!

When the Ordnance Department did that to Colt's submission in the handgun trials of 1911, the pistol that became the M1911 went 6,000 rounds without a failure, and that also included dunking in water and mud. That's why multiple failures in less than 25 rounds just don't seem very impressive.

AB,

Got no dawg in this fight, but the failures occurred with non -standard mags, and cleared up when standard mags were used.

Cool video. I guess they don't work that great with grand power mags apparently. Ppl commenting on it failing the test didn't see he part where he used a non standard mag for that part. I'd say it passed pretty well.

I'm gonna get a Glock I guess, so many swear by them. Including Hickok45. Those are good guns. Nope I'll buy a Colt1991 or Ruger. Forget Glock not my religion.

Din'nt put a bunch but, I put 70 threw my sts 1991 without one prob. Iknow not big ,but big as RIA had issues with each mag. Colt still knows whats up with their 1911s.

"Non-standard" mags?

You mean full-size magazines for the same pistol in the non-compact version. That should not be a problem. I can run P14 magazines in my Para-Ordnance P12.45 'til the cows come home. Ditto for full-size CZ-75 magazines in the CZ-75 Compact, and Chip McCormick 10-round magazines in any 1911.

Those magazines are actually made by the original manufacturer or in the case of CZ possibly MecGar. I don't know who makes the Grand Power magazines or how well they're made. We didn't see the OP test fullsize CZ mags in the P-07. Will it make a difference? I don't know.

If you don't like the pistol don't buy it. A test of one pistol is pretty much meaningless in terms of judging performance for an entire model line. What it does accomplish is let the user know how his/her particular pistol performs. I can find videos of 1911s choking as well, and in many cases much worse than this.

"Ultimate" torture test?????
Where's the cow poop, running the gun over with a truck, parking the truck on top of the gun, and peeling out over it? Where's the 50% over charged rounds? Where is the spent case and stove bold crammed into the bore, then the gun fired?
OK test to know you can get your gun wet, or drop it (from ONE foot) into soft sand. But ultimate, not even close!!!
