Toronto Cops Ticked-off by Controversial T-shirts

TORONTO/640TORONTO - Some T-shirts being worn by young people in Toronto are irritating Toronto cops.

The shirts have a picture of a gun, with the captioon, "Rule 1: Be Armed.''

The shirts aren't illegal, just in bad taste.

Sgt. Rob Hargan says kids wearing them will be "hassled.''

But 640 Toronto crime expert and host of The Beat Craig Bromell says that's about all police can do because there's nothing illegal about them.

There are suggestions that two of the shirts have been seized.

2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
a) freedom of conscience and religion;
b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
d) freedom of association.

Straight from the Canadian Rights page.

So it appears that they do have freedoms :).

Edited: It also seems that the cops feel that they are above the law:

9. Everyone has the right not to be arbitrarily detained or imprisoned.

Why are we in Iraq when the Canadians need to be liberated?

Actually, from BC to the west and all the interior provinces want to be annexed by America and not be part of Canada. In BC they actually had a "town" meeting to see if they could succeed from Canada and be annexed by the US.

Of course, northeast Canada doesn't like that idea.

*My source is just word of mouth from the Director of the Training Center in BC who voted for annexation to the US.

Of course, don't assume that all BCer's and Albertans want america style "freedomes". Some do, some don't. I spoke with a Abbotsford policeman about gun control. His response was,

"I don't take my gun home with me from work. We are not such a John Wayne place like America is".

Tick, Tock, Tick tock. I wonder how long before he realizes how wrong he is. Oh well. Back to the subject.
