I came across top break s&w 32 cal pistol, I think it's a double action fourth model. Front site is pinned and the trigger guard is round, it has nickel finish. It has some issues cylinder will not lock up and the trigger will not reset every time, it will reset sometime but not everytime the trigger is pulled. Number on it is 76***. Any idea on time frame when made and is it worth getting fixed.

If it is in semi-decent shape it is well worth fixing I would say. These go for up to $5-600 in good condition. They are sweet shooters and a beautiful little piece of history.

i've seen them sell in perfect shooting order for 150 dollars.....never seen one sell for 600$ ever tho

was this one made by Smith Wesson? or is it just chambered in 32s&w......the common one back then was made by iver johnson and a few others

Your description and the serial number do indeed identify your gun as a fourth model. It was produced from 1883 until 1909. The serial number of the series started at 43,406 and ended at 282,999. Your number would indicate production prior to 1900. These pocket pistols were of good quality and the symptoms you describe indicate that a good cleaning inside might restore function. At least, that is always the first thing to try.
