TOO Small for Concealed Carry?

I've got a mod 60 I've used for years. Sure it's heavy, but it is reliable and of a dependable caliber. Anyway, lately, I've been playing with the idea of getting something smaller...Beretta Jetfire to be exact. Well, got one, took it to the range. Size & weight wise, it's great. Couldn't ask for better. The only reservation I still have is the caliber. 25acp just doesn't look like it'll do more than blow out an ear drumb and piss the wrong guy off  What's the deal with these, can I depend on it?

If you really want to go with a tiny gun, go with one of the .32s, such as the Kel Tec.

Smaller, lighter, and a lot more punch (relatively speaking) than your Beretta.

Last I checked, Kel-tec was not approved for the Golden State (CA). As for the 32's, I understand the Tomcats had frames cracking that is why I went with the Jetfire.

Beretta.25

The 950 is about the best small concealment gun you can find. For me, the Kel Tec is too small, Guardian, too heavy. I like the grip of the Beretta better. Load the 950 with mag safes and alternate with the strongest .25 fmj you can find. Remember, no one wants to get shot.

I have a P32 KelTec and 950 Jetfire.

The P32 is twitchy. The 950 is totally reliable.

As mouse guns go, I rely on my 950.

You might have to use every round of .25 but you can be assured that every round will shoot.

They always talk of "one shot stopping power". My method is to aim at the head and pop three quick ones and then run like hell.

I can carry my 950 up my ass and so it can just go about anywhere. That little sucker is really small.

That's taking concealed carry to a whole new level. The only real problem I see (other than hemorrhoids) is drawing that sucker.

BG: Stick 'em up!

BDB: Uhmmm... sure, hang on just a sec.

BG: I said "stick 'em up." Why are you mooning me?!?

BDB: One more second... hang on.

BG: Ugh, gross! Just forget it.

Now that I think about it, it just might work. :D

I understand the Beretta 950
was introduced in 1950 and has been in production for all these years.
They have been made in Maryland
since 1978 up till today.
An exceedingly reliable little
pistol,a mere 9/10 of an inch thick
and weighing only 10 ounces.

The Jetfire is a great little pistol. Mine was 100% reliable. I got rid of it when I purchased my P-32. I prefer the 32 caliber, but if you are satisfied with a 25, I don't think you can beat the Jetfire for reliablilty. I think it makes a great pocket gun. My only reservations about it (other than caliber) were that I didn't feel comfortable carrying it with one in the tube (I've read about some AD), and it is somewhat hard to rack the slide on this gun. If you get into the habit of cocking the hammer before pulling on the slide it is much easier. Also because there is no ejector if you have a misfire you must open the tip-up barrel and pull the round out with your finger before you can rechamber another round.

Ber 950

If I am carrying my 950 with the chamber empty I leave the hammer cocked, safety off. Faster and easier to rack the slide. Also, when the Jetfire misfires(It doesn't happen often), flipping the barrel usually self ejects the cartridge or at least makes it easier to remove.

A few suggestions:

In .22LR
- Beretta 21 Bobcat
- Walther TPH (if you can find one)

In .32
- Betetta Tomcat

In .380 or 9mm Kurtz
- North American Arms Guardian (one of the best 'mouse' guns)

9mm
- Kahr MK9

When I have to be really really low profile when carrying I go with a Barreta Tomcat .32 w/a mix of silver tips and S&B ball. Working distance will be a matter of inches and feet not yards, so shot placement is absolutely critical The Tomcat 's weight and grip size make precision shot placement possible for me. It's not the lightest or smallest, but for me it's the most controlable of the mouseguns. As for the slide cracking, this is a weapon designed to carry alot and shoot little. 500 rds and no problems with mine except it hates fiocchi ammo.

Semper Fi 226 yrs of pride and tradition.
