Too hard to engrave?

Any engravers out there who could comment on the ease or difficulty of engraving Ruger handguns (blue or stainless)? I have heard Ruger's metal is extremely hard, making any engraving extremely difficult. Thanks...

When I was in college for Gunsmithing, one of the engraving students borrowed a Ruger Blackhawk in 30carbine and engraved it for me. As I recall she didn't have any problems engraving it.

I can't imagine Ruger being any more difficult than the others. Stainless might be a problem because it is so soft, might be difficult to get clear and sharp detail.

I wanted to engrave the Second Amendment into my Bushmaster AR15, but after talking with engravers, I found out the only way to do it would be LASER engraving. A costly method because they have to make a jig to hold the reciever, set up the tool paths, etc, etc, etc... It might be worthwhile for about 1000 AR15s, but not 1 custom job since I'm not exactly rolling in the dough.
