Too bad Smith & Wesson wont make a 454 Casull??

I know the great S&W 500 has probably killed the thought of a S&W 454.
I like the 454 because of the ability of shooting less power and cheaper 45LC. The reloading combinations are endless
I was looking at the S&W 500 but ammo is too $$$ and I would have to reload low power loads to practice with.
Any one else think S&W should have a 454 casull??

I wouldn't mind seeing one. I am looking at getting one for next deer season and more competition means more options. They do offer a .45 Colt but it is not what I am looking for.

Why would anyone think S&W might make anything but, their own 500? If you think S&W would EVER chamber for the 454 Casull or 480 Ruger, I have some stock in Whitewater left over. LOL I don't see it being done.

This You Can Take To The Bank.

S&W will be introducing an X-frame revolver in the new 460S&W MAGNUM that will chamber and shoot 454CASULL and 45COLT cartridges interchangeably.
You better sell the Whitewater stock soon...

Yes, oh yes...If S&W makes the 460 Magnum, I will buy one for sure.

Its time for S&W to get off its butt and stick its neck out on some NEW ideas. The 500S&W is a step it the right direction. Now if only Colt would only do something new.

I thought the same thing until I picked up a Taurus Raging Bull stainless 454 with a 6" barrel for $350. I`ve since forgot about S@W.

I recently found a deal on a Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 and it's going to be my new target revolver. X-frame would be too big for the job.

And to those who think I'm joking about the target part check out my latest batch of reloads:

Short rounds are 45 ACP for my Taurus 455, tall are 454. The 185 gr SWC is doing substitute duty to FWC until I get some from Penn or start casting my own.

The 454 guns make great target pistols. Tight tolerances, good sights, big calliber holes, and a wide variety of available loads for everything from punching paper at 10 yards to sillouette.
