Toilet poster campaign aimed at disarmament
Peacekeepers in Bosnia Herzegovina say a public toilet poster campaign aimed at getting people to disarm, has been a success.
The posters carry the message: "The only weapon you need is the one in your hand".
More than 350 rifles as well as assorted munitions have so far been handed in by people who took advantage of the amnesty offered by the posters.
They are said to be launching a similar one in women's toilets with the message: "A real man doesn't need a gun to prove he's a man, there is something else that is more important."
The campaign aimed at women has already been launched in toilets in coffee shops and restaurants in the town of Banja Luka.
The town, like the rest of Bosnia and Herzogovina, was torn apart by ethnic fighting during the break up of former Yugoslavia - and there are still thousands of weapons stored in homes around the country.
