Today I learned about the Paypal terms and conditions!

I found out today that accepting payment for complete firearms, as well as upper OR lower receivers, and high capacity magazines is a violation of Paypal's terms and conditions.

You CAN however use it for regular magazines, parts, accessories, and other things that don't go bang or hold enough bullets to strike fear in the hearts of liberals everywhere.

For those of y'all who use gunbroker, or other online vendors, keep in mind that if the invoice says anything about firearms whatsoever, you'll be getting a friendly phone call from the folks at Paypal. There ARE other services you can use as well. A few of them are listed on Gunbroker.

The rep was very polite, and said I wasn't violating any laws just their terms and conditions of use. They didn't shut my account down or cancel the transaction or anything, but I have to respond to their email within 5 days or they'll cancel the account for good. Stupid me for putting the name of the manufacturer and model in the personal notes section of the invoice I sent the guy.

oops.

How does paypal define a "high capacity" magazine?
To me a "standard capacity" AR-15 Magazine is 30 or 20 rounds...a Standard capacity 9mm Glock 17 Magazine is 17 rounds....who made Paypal the new "assault weapons" police?

I always knew Paypal+anythingun=that dog don't hunt; but I never knew they had such stupid this product is ok but this product is not rules.

I think they use the California (and former federal AWB) definition of more than 10 rounds.

However, 10 round mags where the original design was for more (like most double stack autoloaders) are indeed "regular" magazines. It's the 10 round ones that are the freaks here.

But yeah, the Paypal restrictions are nothing new.

I've heard that the Appleseed folk use Paypal exclusively. Even if you pay by credit card it's still run thru Paypal as a 'guest' account there. So if you do business with the Appleseed store you're doing business with Paypal. (Which I have no problem with - I just think Paypal's policy about firearms related stuff is idiotic.)

I don't understand why so many fire arm owners think Pay Pal is anti gun. Pay Pal is just doing what the lawyers said to do in order to avoid being sued out of business. Same with evil bay. Any business that gets a piece of the action wants all the action possible. Blame the Tory court system.

While this may be true, I reserve the right not to do business with Pay Pal for any reason I see fit.
