Today I am embarrassed to be called an American - Here is a quote from some foreigner regarding this bull**** legal action from the Gore wanna-be Administration:
"On a very ordinary, easy ballot paper, a vast number of ordinary Americans get it wrong. But that's not funny. What is funny is that a lot of people who got it wrong went out the next day and held up banners - they might as well have said "I am stupid""!!! All foreigners, including myself, are pissing ourselves laughing at the dumbness of SOME Americans. I'm afraid to say that the stereotypical American is seen as very thick to Europeans. And those IDIOTS with banners just make it worse. ROTFLMAOPIMP!!! "

wil, this is America, land of the frivolous lawsuits. Some people here need laws to protect them from themselves. Don't take those comments personally. We run the whole gamut of intelligence levels from not-quite-as-sharp-as-a-bowlingball to sharp-as-a-tack. With the huge population of the U.S., we will have numerically more of each than other countries. I'm sure it's the same case in the country the foreigner is from, although in lower numbers. Just be sure to mention that you're at the other end not protesting.

What's now coming out is that of those 19,000+ "dumbo" ballots, many were merely tossed out because they were replaced. That is, the voter asked for and received a new ballot, plus clarification instructions.

Apparently only a relatively few were actually confused. And a certain amount of confusion is common in every polling place during every election we've ever had.

As usual, the media is selling excitement and therefore advertising--and a lot of suckers are falling for it. None of those suckers ever post here, of course... :)

And, GeekWithGun, given that there are folks of "polite company" who post and read here, why don't you edit your post and clean up your language. Even your grandmother would understand the ** garbage, and I doubt she would approve of such grossness.

I know all those words, and in some eight or nine languages--and have used them. But this is not the place to prove one has limitations to one's vocabulary.

It is just as easy to point out that there are some people who, when they arrive home at night, you hope their mother crawls out from under the porch and bites them...

Now, VP Gore and his sycophants who are working mightily to interfere in a cut-and-dried, codified legal process, are indeed an embarrassment to the country. The shame, however, is something they are bringing only onto themselves. It is as though you hear reports of misbehavior by a bunch of nasty little children--and one of them is yours. Embarrassing to you, shameful of the brat.

America is the greatest country in the world. We may have a few loose screws in this country, but who doesn't. You should always be proud to be an American.

And the Democrats are proud to proclaim they believe ALL of the ballots screwed up by these dummies were done by members of their own party. Nuff said.
 
I don't know about the election but I think the World Series should be played again. :mad: Some of those games were real close and I'm sure some of the Mets meant to "go yard" instead of grounding out. It was obvious to me what their intentions were.
