To the people that dislike Glock triggers etc.

Speaking for myself, I am able to shoot my Glocks very well.
In the same range session I can also shoot my Kimber 1911 or my CZ75b or another pistol.
I never seem to cry or whine about the trigger or grips. I find it amazing how very few of us are able to hang with pistols with different ergonomics without saying the guns suck. I think it's more the fault of the shooter if YOU can't adapt somewhat.
Instead it's I only date brunettes cause the one blonde I dated made me cry and I couldn't control her, Boo-Hoo.
Me? I'll date em' all and enjoy the differences......

Sorry if this made you cry, but I had to say it.....

Speaking for myself, I own both (Glock and non Glock), and I can shoot them both pretty well. They are not my FIRST choice, but are very far from the bottom of the list. If they didn't point "funny" for me, they would likely be #2 on my list.

Being of a rare breed ( Those who like the 1911 AND the Glock ), what really burns my nads are the people from BOTH camps who always pop up when people are playing nicely, and try to pick a fight.

Did ya every notice how they usually do their taunting from behind something?

And ya know what....... I guess I'm not much better, because SOMETIMES, I can't do the right thing and just ignore them.

Would you be so proud of being able to "adapt" to shoot, say, a Snake Charmer from the shoulder? Or to "adapt" to wearing a size 4 pump with a 3" heel? Some things just don't fit your body. CZs, 1911s, redheads, blondes, and brunettes fit my body; Glocks, HKs, Berettas, men and barnyard animals don't. YMMV on guns or bed partners, and that's the way it should be.

I see no virtue in "adapting" on either score. I openly class nipples on men as equally useful as "trigger safeties" on Glocks. Doesn't mean that somebody built differently than me who thinks differently than me shouldn't have one or the other in or next to the bed. You can "adapt" all you want, I see it as no personal failure that I buy clothes in my own size, guns that fit my hand, and seek out partners that fit my taste.

brookstexas,

I can adapt to pistols that allow my hand to properly engage the trigger without having to drasticly alter a normal grip of the weapon. There ARE pistols I just can't shoot well because I'd have to alter my grip to the point it felt un-natural. DAO semi-auto pistols tend to be amoung those that are a challenge for me, while most revolvers I don't have a problem with. (Go figure) I dare say there are NO off the shelf pistols that fit a users hand perfectly though some come closer than others. We all have to adapt in some form or fashion to accomodate less than ideal ergonomics.

You and I have similar tastes in pistols (or similar size hands?) and have no problem switching between 1911s, Glocks and CZ75s. I'll also add a Ruger SP101 into the mix. :D

I can adapt to just about everything. The only exception that I can think of offhand is a Desert Eagle. It's way too big for me. Not any less desirable though. ;)

Damn I like causin trouble!

Everybody through cryin yet? ;)

WHat I really wanted to point out was since YOUR tastes don't like the Glock trigger etc. doesn't mean they suck.
What it really means is that you are a whiny little baby! ;)
Relax, I'm just causin trouble...

brookstexas,

Dont worry, I fully understand what you are saying:). You seemed perfectly clear to me but obviously not some of the others.

Some people only like what they own, like the Glock bashers. ohhhh, they hate those horrible guns. Then one day they luck out and get a deal on one and the next thing you know they are popping up on Glocktalk asking where to get high caps for it. Its a funny, funny thing.

Does this thread title ring a bell with anyone here?

"I have sinned" open to find a new Glock owner.

How about this ol classic?

"Never thought I would own one of those plastic guns"

See I stay out of teh fray on guns because frankly I love them all, might not own them all but the more gun companys the better in my eyes.

maybe someday you might find a thread with me as teh author that says.

"never thought I would own one of those finiky, old school, expensive 1911s"

Dont hold your breath though:)

Brooks . . .

My Glock 23C and Glock 36 provide MY poorest accuracy, in comparison to over a dozen other handguns I regularly shoot (Colts, Springfields, Rugers, H&Ks, Sigs, S&Ws, Kimbers). However, I have ALWAYS been clear that the problem is mine -- not Glock's -- and that the quality, durability, and reliability of all Glocks is excellent.

This said, aren't TFL members pledged not to spam, troll, or flame in their posts?
