To qualify or not?

There is an IDPA qualifier today at my range. I have been to exactly one IDPA shoot so far. My second will be tomorrow. Should I get a couple more shoots under my belt before attempting the qualifier? Just so the whole process isn't so new? Or are you "supposed" to do it at your earliest opportunity? It will be inconvienent for me to do it today but not impossible.

Go and get classified. I always suggest to new IDPA and IPSC to get classified in the lowest class. That way you can win a few trophies for your cabinet. Plus placing well keeps you interested. Then you can move up and the challenge keeps you interested.

Definately shoot the classifier. It will hep you know what points you are week at. There is strong and weak hand involved in it which will help. You can also track your progress on future classifiers.
