First, my condolences.

Second, even through NJ was already anti-gun, now with such a rabid anti in office as governor, what do you expect to happen?

He already believes that the 2nd amendment is a States right, not an individual right.

Do you think that he is going to try to make the entire state of NJ into a D.C., a Chicago, or a San Francisco?

For those in Virginia, how does Kaine stand on gun control or guns in General? I have heard conflicting reports, some say that he is more of a Republican on the issue; the NRA gave him an F rating.

Which is it?

From what I hear, NJ was already a lost cause, and cannot possibly be made any worse then it already was.

Here's an excerpt from Phil VanCleave's (VCDL) after-action report:
Here is what we know about many of Tim Kaine's positions:

From his VCDL candiate survey, Kaine has taken the following pro-gun positions:

He supports full recognition of all other states' concealed carry permits He supports removal of the fingerprint option for concealed handgun
permit applicants
He supports full preemption
He opposes government mandates on the use of trigger locks or other
"safety" devices
He opposes ballistic fingerprinting
He opposes any attempt to limit or curtail gun shows
He opposes all gun bans
He supports legislation to give homeowners immunity from criminal
prosecution and civil suit if they use a firearm in their own home to
protect themselves or their families from a violent intruder

Kaine has taken the following anti-gun positions based on his VCDL survey:

He opposes the restaurant ban repeal (he calls it 'guns in bars') He opposes concealed handgun permit holders carrying on K-12 school grounds He opposes Alaska style concealed carry He opposes mandatory Eddie Eagle training in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grades He opposes repeal of One-Handgun-A-Month

VCDL will continue to work hard to get pro-gun bills on Kaine's desk,
whether he opposes them in principle or not.

As long as we hold Kaine to his stated positions, and as long as we continue to have a pretty conservative Legislature, I don't think he can do much damage to RKBA in a single, four-year term.

I sure hope you're right. Be certain to hold him to the "straight and narrow" over there in Virginia!
