Springfield M6 survival rifle... Has anyone shot one??? How do they shoot? For those of you that don't know, its a 22lr over a .410 barrel. It looks like a great little rifle for behind the seat of your truck. Im thinking of a stainless version. Let me hear your comments, good or bad, so I can make an informed decision. Has anyone ordered a soft sided case for one? what do you reccommend?

This is the breakdown version, eh? Isn't this manufactured by CZ?

The few I've handled seemed well made and the price is pretty fair.

I have a parkerized version in .22/.410 and I love it. It's remarkably accurate and very well made. The trigger sucks and takes some getting used to but it works well enough.

Build quality is top notch.

I really want another one in 22 Hornet/.410. If you're a handloader you should seriously consider getting the Hornet. It's a hell of a round and makes the gun a lot more versatile.

I have the soft case and it works well. I recommend getting one.

I love the M6's. I have 3 I like them so much. I have 2 original SA made versions in .22LR/.410 and one of the new CZ produced versions in .22 Hornet/.410.

I think the are great little rifles and shoot mine frequently. They are a bit starange to shoot becasue of their construction but I have gotten used to not having regular stocks and trigger. I have found them to be plenty accurate (I don't have scopes on mine) and I have more fun with them than most of my guns. They are a great "walking gun" and are simple and rugged.

Jaeger,

Being both a .22 Hornet nut and a .410 nut the .22H/.410 version is great and I got mine as soon as they came out. I had been hunting for and original SA version in .22H but they are rare as hens teeth. When I heard that Sa was going to have CZ make them and they were going to be available in .22H I was stoked. I reload for both so I get lots of enjoyment out of mine. I highly reccomned the .22H version if you are so inclined.
