To coat or not to coat?

I have a Remingto 870 Express 12GA. I've had it for roughly five years now. I am a stickler about cleaning my guns. I clean them after the range and after a hunt. Every month or so, I even take them out of the safe to wipe them down and to check for any issues. The matte finish on my 870 is starting to turn orange. I clean the gun off, and it doesn't appear that there is any pitting yet. I was thinking about having the gun camo coated, so match the synthetic stock and forearm, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to spend $200 on a $400 gun...? Opinions are very welcome on this matter...

Thanks!

There's been some threads recently (and I can't remember if it was here or on the OTHER gun forum) where some folks used some cans of various spray paint and did it themselves. They used leaves and other natural things like that as stencils, and the job came out remarkably well.

SFW the rough blued finish on your gun needs to have oil soaked into the finish, not wiped down with a oily rag, really soaked till the finish does not absorb up any more then wipe off the excess.I use Ballistol but have used Breakfree in the past.
