To Build or not to build 270 Wthby

I am considering a new rifle. Ruger #1, 270 Wthby. This will be a "built" rifle.
I am a 270 nut but have never fooled with the Wthby round. Any comments.

Also any one had any experience with the Browning/Winchester 1885 H Wall. I am also considering one of those in addition to the Ruger. 30-06,or imp. "built" Barrels etc. I don't have any problems with reloading.....I do have a thing for keeping it in the 30-06 case line. How much "weight" can one of these Browning actions take ?

You're talking two rifles? A .270 Wby in the Ruger #1, and an '06 on a High Wall?

The only potential problem I could think of, offhand, with the Wby is the extractor/ejector fit-up. That's a big, fat case. Gale could probably be more specific on that.

I've never had an improved '06. From what I've read, there's not enough gain to warrant the hassle--but that's all second-hand. The gun would be plenty strong enough, as the chamber pressure is about the same as all the other cartridges in that class...
