I finally got around to installing the Timney trigger on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical this weekend. It is the first time I’ve tried anything like that on something other than a 10/22. Installation was simple and probably took every bit of 15 minutes from start to finish. I think it is a vast improvement over the factory Remington. Zero play and the cleanest break of anything I’ve ever shoot. Somebody that knows what they are doing might be able to tune the factory trigger for similar results but for a novice like me a drop in like this seems to be the way to go.
I got it out to the range today and was quite pleased with the results. The first target was re-zeroing from 200 to 100. Then a total of eight 3 shot groups with 6 an inch or less at 100 yards. For me that’s pretty good.
