Timney flat triggers, anyone use them?

In light of Remington's recall of their X-Mark Pro trigger I've decided to switch my three 700s to Timney triggers. Every one appears to be sold out of the standard curved trigger but MidwayUSA has the flat ones in stock.

To those of you who have these and have used them, what is your opinion? I placed the standard triggers on my "notify me" list but there's no telling how long it may be till they are back in stock.

I ordered one a week ago (curved shoe) straight from Timney and got it in 3 days. I'd rather order straight from them in order to have them set the pull weight I want at the factory. Cost a few dollars more but by the time shipping was factored in, I didn't pay much more.

I didn't like the curved trigger in my 700 so I replaced it with the flat trigger from Timney. Luckily they're here in town and I got it back in under an hour. I only shoot off a bench so I had them set it at 1.5lbs and I love it. This was only a few months ago and at the time they had the curved trigger, and some competition triggers available but I never liked a curved trigger on my handguns. Took a little getting used to but I like it a lot. 1.5 might have been too low but I don't hunt with it. I've had a few much more experienced shooters than I give good feedback on the trigger. They did offer a slight discount if I paid in cash, they pretty much just knock off the taxes, but I don't know that they'd offer that unless you're standing in the building.

All my rifles are big game hunting weapons and all have had the triggers removed and replaced with Timney's 510s. Only one Timney supplier did I have luck in having my order immediately shipped ASAP. That was Browneels. All the other Timney's I required were ordered direct from Timney Manufacturing itself. You will pay retail price when purchasing direct from Timney. But the cost difference between Timney and one of its supplier's is offset by not having to purchase a trigger pull gauge. Timney will at your request pre-set your triggers pull weight prior to its shipping at their facility free of charge. As far as Timney 517 L shaped triggers. Their pull weight was a little too Light for my liking. For those fellows who primarily shoot bench rest or over a Bipod when varmint hunting. Having installed a L-shaped Timney would be a excellent asset to complement their shooting abilities.

I don't often buy Remington rifles, but when I do I make mine a Timney Remington (before I fire it the first time). IMHO Remingtons reaction to trigger issues was to make a rifle that can't be fired.

I agree that Timney is a great company to deal with.

I ordered my curved Timney directly from the company about three weeks ago, adjusted to 2.5 lbs. and got it in a few days. It works very well and price, with shipping, was as good as any I've seen. The Tootsie Pop was a pleasant surprise!
