Man run over, killed during brawl http://www.phillyburbs.com/couriertimes/news/news/471227.htm

Man charged in train tragedy http://www.phillynews.com/inquirer/2000/Apr/22/front_page/SREADING22.htm

These two incidents stood out amidst the usual spate of local hit and runs, drive bys, vehicle assisted crime escapes and drunk driving crashes (and the situation where a police officer had to shoot a woman driver who was allegedly attempting to run down a teen). I think in these forums there are enough stats to confirm that the amount of American citizens intentionally or unintentionally criminalized in some capacity by automobiles outnumbers the population affected by irresponsibly used firearms. Aside from flushing pollutants into the environment and giving the pols and corporations some of the ties they need to handcuff to mideastern petrol merchants, cars and trucks recieve no shortage of multimedia advertisement that "erotifies" them, a characteristic that predates but was commented on in the advertisements for the movie Christine some years back.

Those who repeatedly drive under the influence recieve slaps on the wrist, cars can be driven in all states without
too much controversy, there is no stigma against them despite the massacres they have been used in....

What bad bad weapons they really are!

Jeff (who does drive)

Thanks for posting these links. I keep a file on this kind of incidents to prove you don't need firearms to murder.
