Tikka t3 lite 7mm-08

The Tikka is supposed to be very accurate for a production rifle. It also features a silky smooth bolt, single stack mag, and a good trigger pull. That rifle weighs only 6-1/4 lbs which is very light for a production rifle and makes it one of the better production mountain rifles.

I don't like the lack of access to the chamber, and detachable mag but those are my personal objections to the rifle.

My wife recently got this gun, but have not shot it yet. Caliber should be awesome. If it performs the way my other Tikka's have, it to will be good.:D

I don't have the Tikka (mine's a Marlin XS7) but I have the caliber. IMO, one of the best caliber for hunting NA games. For me, grouping with this caliber seems very easy in comparison to other big game calibers. When I was looking for a 7-08, if I had a couple of hundreds dollars more, I would've gotten the Tikka. Should be a great performing rifle.

Tikka T-3

I have one in 308 Win and love it. Extremely accurate and dependable and I have taken many whitetails with it. Smooth trigger, smoot bolt and comfortable to shoot.

I have the Tikka 7-08 in s/ss.
First trip to the range and it grouped MOA with cheap Remington Corelokt.
Actually likes that ammo best.
I reload Barnes TSX 140gr and would like to try 120gr TSX's...H414 and Varget powder.
It is a very light rifle and good for covering ground.
It is the one big-game rifle I will never sell.
I thing the 7-08 is the perfect cartridge for non-dangerous game in North America.
I bought some Federal HE Trophy Bonded Bearclaw ammo before it was discontinued.
Haven't chrono'd it but if you believe the factory claims, you're just a step behind 7-mag velocities and even with .280.
Reloaders dream.

i have one in 300wm, great gun. the stock feels cheap and things like aftermarket recoil pads are definitely more difficult to find as are extra mags but it is very accurate and smooth. its not perfect but IMO its hard to beat for the price. the included rings are junk also but the receiver is tapped for a more traditional mounting system.

Has anyone used the 140 gr Sierra gameking fir this caliber??some say that it's not good for 7mm caliber...does any have experience with it on game???

I have a Sako 75 in the 7mm-08 and love the caliber. As to the Gamekings, no I have not shot them but I have shot the 130grn Matchkings and find them to be about as accurate as anything else, though I will not hunt with them. I shoot a 150grn Nosler BT in mine and its a pretty hot load over 45.5grns of H4350 grouping about .5" at 100yds. The combination is absolutely devastating to a whitetail deer or hog.

I own a lot of different caliber rifles but I have to say, the 7mm-08 is about the perfect combination of all the things I look for in a medium size cartridge like that. I just wish someone made a 7mm-08 with a heavy barrel and a plastic stock without having to go custom to get what I want.

I have used the Sierra 140 gr. pro-hunter bullet in my T/C Encore pistols and also my Winchester M70 rifles off and on for the past 20 years. This bullet has never failed me and have gotten many deer with it. When I wasn't using this bullet, I used Remington's 140 gr. Core-lok bullets and have had very good luck with them also. I use nothing but my reloads and haven't used a factory shell in 50 years.

I believe that the 140 gr gameking is perfect medicine for blackbearitis. It should also take any other animal you wish to hunt with proper placement. Though I would choose a larger caliber for moose and grizzly. However the cartrige bullet combo should be capable of both in the right situations.
