Any opinions on these? Saw one at a gun shop. Fondled it, it seemed nice, and the salesman said it was a tack driver. Is there any truth to this?

I just inhearited an Ithaca that was made by TIkka. My first 3 shots at 100yds went 1" even (Rem. 165gr). I don't think accuracy will be a problem for you.

If your talking about the Tikka rifles made by Sako in Finland,I bought my son one in .243. He shoots groups under one inch all day long. Excellent rifle.

My friend just bought a Tikka with a detachable magazine in .223, We took it to the range and mounted a 4x12 scope on it and had it zeroed in no time. Very smooth action and good accurracy out of the box, I would not hesitate to buy one.

Good Luck

I have a Tikka 695 in 30-06. Out of the box, it has a free floated barrel, 2.5lb adjustable, crisp, trigger and a match grade chamber. It also has one of the smoothest bolts you'll find on a production rifle. Mine shoots 1/2" 100yd 3 shot groups with Nosler 180gr Ballistic tips and 56gr of IMR 4831. My local gun shop has them on the shelf for $495. I couldn't be more pleased and will definitely buy more Tikkas.

Finnish firearms and snow skis sent many Soviets to the Promised Land during WW II. I wonder how they will fare in the next one.
