Heard great things about the Whitetail Hunter, so I bought one. Heard great things about the Optilock's, can't find them anywhere. Please help. Thanks guys.
All the great things you have heard are true about the Tikka and the Optilock rings. I just installed a pair on my new Whitetail Hunter and they are worth the extra money. They will probably have to be ordered through a dealer(preferably local) found on the Tikka web site at http://www.sako.fi/_index.html also they are on the tyko website at http://www.tyko.com but I have never dealt with them. They will cost somewhere around $85 to $100. If they are half that price you will know that they are not the right ones. The cheaper Tikka rings are made in USA and the Optilocks(also known as Tikka Deluxe Rings) are made in Finland. When I ordered the rings with the rifle the dealer couldn't find the word Optilock so I ordered Deluxe and they turned out to be the same thing. I used the low rings and they worked great with a 3-9x43 Pentax with 1/4" clearance between barrel and scope. Good Luck!!!
