Tight Magazines

Does anyone know if a tight fitting mag will damage the mag catch? I don’t mean snug in the sense that they don’t fit the well. I mean tight in the sense that loaded to full capacity the mag requires a firm push to get the mag catch to engage. A couple of my buddies claim that this will damage the mag catch and cause it to break.

You need to tell your buddies to buy better magazines. If I load my Glock magazines full capacity, they take an extra push to engage the mag lock, but they've taken years of that abuse with no apparent damage.

Thanks for the response. I know nothing will happen to the mags. I'm worried about their claim that the mag catch will be damaged due to the added stress.
