I am a new member and was wondering if anyone could help me out .I have a .40 and I would like to reload with 165gr lead and tight group powder but can not find info on it dose anyone have info on it

Go back and get a few manuals and read them. Then the powder manufacturers should have the info you are looking for on their sight.

Good Luck

Thank you for the info I will keep looking . I have four manuals even one for cast bullets but they are for 180 gr I will look further on the web sites.

Hodgdon Titegroup .400" 1.125" 4.5gr start 960fps 24,300 PSI/ 5.1gr max 1,060fps 31,800 PSI

That's from Hodgdon itself for plated and lead bullets.

With that said, I have run some 165gr BayouBullets with 4.0gr and it was a nice bunny fart round for practice.

Last time I called Hodgdon for info about 40 S&W- Titegroup-and lead bullets the tech on the phone told me THAT NOBODY SHOOTS LEAD IN 40 S&W??????
had me confused and had no reply for my question about data or why so many companies are producing lead bullets in 40 S&W

I'm kind of new to TiteGroup - got some last summer for the first time. But I've used and tested it quite a bit for 38/44 Special, and 45 ACP. In terms of burn rate speed range, it should work pretty well in 40 S&W / 165gn bullets; for general range shooters.

The problem I think you're going to run into is leading. Shooting lead in 40 S&W tends to be problematic to begin with. But on top of that, it seems that TiteGroup burns hot.

In my efforts to find a good use for TiteGroup, I've pretty much reserved it for plated bullets. From my experience (and I still have some more testing to do), it sure seems that hot-burning TG likes to lead barrels - and that's with cartridges that are far more lead-friendly than 40 Smith.
