Tight DeSantis Holster

I purchased a DeSantis holster for a Colt Mustang and it is very tight. I have worked the edges of the holster with my hand to soften it up. The gun does fit in the holster better, but it is still very tough to get in and out. Is there any type of oil or "grease" or something that can be applied to the inside of a holster to help break it in? If not, is there something I should be doing that I am not?

Get the gun into the holster and leave it there for a week without any additives.

Then work the gun in and out a few times.
Usually fixes the problem

The best way is to use it. I just recently got one of their speed scabbards and it too was pretty snug, as most new leather holsters are. A couple nights of practice drawing from it and its smoothed out nicely.

Do what WA said...but put the gun in a plastic bag first so that it stretches the leather slightly.

More than one leather holster mfg recommends this

Yes, you didn't read the instructions that came with it. They clearly state that the holster may be tight at first, and what to do if it is too tight. Ask me how I know.:)
I'm very impressed with my DeSantis by the way. Good luck with yours.:)

I bought the holster in new on ebay for a good price, but it came with no instructions. That is why I didn't know what the break in procedures were.
