Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the advice you've written in my last thread. I was thinking of buying a .357 Taurus with 4" barrel but when I actually went to put a deposit on it, it had been sold. I found a really nice .38 SPL tho' - a S&W model 10-10 with 4" barrel - hardly used.
I checked it over following Jim March's "Revolver checkout" thread and another old client helped me out a bit as well.
What I was wondering is what year the revolver is? It is a model 10-10 and the serial number is BRL 6457.
Anyway, I bought the gun because it was barely used and checked out OK. I'm not sure what the laws are regarding the sort of projectiles you're allowed to use for self-defence here, but I've bought a box of Aguila FMJ just to plink away on the firing range seeing as it's about half the price of Federal or Winchester.
If I can I'll go for the FBI load, although there are the Winchester Silvertips available and also Federal Ny-clads in +P. I was told that you can't use the Nyclads for self defence here but until I actually talk to DICSCAMEC, the Arms division of the Peruvian National Police, I'm not taking anyone's word for it.
Thanks again for all the advice and can someone help out on the year?
Regards
Greg Summerfield
