Thunder Ranch Precision Rifle 2

Well, I hit the lottery. I was just informed by an NRA rep. that my name was drawn to attend, free of charge, Thunder Ranch's Precision Rifle 2 class in Oct.. (LEO only lottery)
I've read some articles about this class and gotten all the info I can from their web site. Has anyone been to this class? If so I'd like to hear your experiences.
I'll be taking my Remington 700P. It currently has a 1st gen Springfield Armory 4-14X56 Government scope on it. This scope has no paralax adjustment. I'm wondering how much of a handicap this will be. Most shooting is supposed to be within 600 yds. however there is some shooting out to 1000 yds.. With the extremely short notice of this class I am really strapped for cash (travel, room and board are not included) and can't really afford a new scope. If I really stretch things I can maybe get a Tasco Super Sniper. Sniper Country has very good things to say about this scope.
Any thoughts, advice, suggestions?

You're going there to learn for the future, not enter a competition for today's score. I'd stay with what you have, learn from the experience, and think about equipment needs after you finish the class.

Regards, Art

tasco optics ore not as good and there are some concerns about durability.i return way more tasco scopes in a year than we do any other brand.probably 6 to 1
