Is the Bersa Thunder 380 rated for P+ ammo? I can't find any info about it on their web site.

Thanks

Bersa 380s

I talked with Terry Murbach of Corbon and he has a Bersa in 380 acp that has seen much of their +P ammo with no problem. But if your worried I would contact Bersa and ask them.....RW

No way.

I've seen folks break the safety off of their Thunders and it certainly wasn't made for a stady diet of +P.

And Corbon blows up tons of guns every year chasing those velocity numbers so I'd discount that. And that was info from a Corbon employee, a current employee.

I own the Firestorm .380 which is a Bersa with the other name and I've been told to not use that type of ammo. Trust me...you don't need to. Pick you up a good box of Hydrashok's or some other quality hollowpoint and you've got you a force to be respected.....with no risk of gun damage.

THIS IS ADDRESSED TO JTDUNCAN...

YOUR ANSWER ON THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DRIVEL AND A DAMNED LIE.
ALL OF OUR TESTING IS DONE IN THE PRESSURE GUNS AND WE'VE NEVER I REPEAT NEVER BLOWN A GUN IN TESTING.
WE DID BLOW ONE UP INTENTIONALLY JUST SO I COULD SEE HOW MUCH IT COULD REALLY TAKE.
THIS HAD BETTER BE THE LAST TIME I SEE THESE LIES FROM YOU ON ANY WEBSITE, AND I DO MEAN THE- LAST- TIME- EVER.
WE LOAD TO SAAMI SPECIFICATIONS AND MAKING OUR NUMBERS IS ACTUALLY EASY UNDER THEIR GUIDELINES. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS YOUR HOMEWORK.

Broken safety???

I have had zero trouble with my Thunder 380, but I've now heard 2 or 3 claims of a broken safety on Thunder 380s. I assume this refers to the safety latch that you flip with your thumb to de-cock the gun, not the actual bar that blocks the hammer from the firing pin. Can anyone fill me in on this, who's actually had first-hand experience with it? Pretty important difference since one would simply cause frustration and the other would cause the gun to go bang when de-cocked. As I said, my 380 has been trouble-free, so I'm surprised to hear it, but wanted to check.

I just went through my Bersa handbook. It says to becareful of reloaded ammo that exceedes SAAMI specs.
Most weapons will accept +P ammo as a carry ammo just as long as you don't make a steady diet of shooting +P all the time. Any way thats what they said about my bodyguard .38.
good luck
DA
