Thumbs up for S&W's customer service once again

I called S&W this morning about ordering a part for one of my revolvers. Before I could even ask how much it would cost, the S&W rep said "We will send this to you right away." I asked how much it was going to cost and he said it was on the house. I even told him I was not the original owner and I needed the new part because of something a boob that owned it previously had done to it. He said it did not matter since it was there product and they wanted it operating at peak capacity.

That is how a big company should treat it's loyal customers. It is just one of the many reasons I never feel bad about buying a S&W product.

Wow, that is impressive. I've been considering a SW 460 instead of a Raging Bull in 41mag. I don't like the price difference but I like the stories about Taurus customer service even less.

I agree- every issue I ever had to resolve with SW customer service, all very minor things, were taken care of quickly and efficently. They are what others should emulate

Yes, indeed. S&W customer service is excellent. The few times I have needed to interact with them, it's been above expectations. For this reason I did not hesitate to add another S&W to the fold, recently: 1911Sc, 4.5". I know if there are issues, they'll get fixed with no hassles. :)

S&W's customer service is among the best in the industry; arguably any industry. We should be so lucky to have most companies emulate them.

I just bought a used 915 and emailed them for a owners manual. Already on the way, and they emailed me a pdf file of the manual so I would have something right away.

top notch!

I had the SAME experience with them a few weeks back. I needed a tiny rear-sight part. Called, they stated it's on the way, no charge.
I was almost at a loss for words.

It's a shame that this has become so unusual.

Nothing but positive experiences on my end.

My SW1911 was denting brass along the rim pretty badly. It seems a burr in the corner of the breech face was the culprit. They fixed it, paid for shipping both ways and installed an ambi safety at no charge.

If you look at their catalog and see the "Survival Kit" revolvers, you will notice they have a lanyard loop screw where the typical grip screw should go. I wanted one for my 4" N-frame. I called them up to see if I could order one. It was sent to me free of charge.

Even with their faults, Smith and Wesson is still one of, (if not the) best "customer satisfaction first" firearms company I have ever dealt with.

I bought a (pre-lock) 396 about three years ago. The prior owner had used some sort of chemical that had removed the coating from the area of the cylinder release. Looked like Hell, but there weren't many around and I wanted one. After I bought it, I found that it shot nice and I liked it.

Contacted S&W and asked about refinishing. They said, send it in and we'll have a look. I sent it in, gave them a few days and called in to check up on it.

It was done and already on it's way back to me. Completely refinished, looked good as new. Free of charge. :)

That validated my choice of S&W as my revolvers of choice.

I bought a used 4006TSW a while back. Somebody had taken the rail off the gun. I don't need the rail but now there are holes in the bottom of the gun. Drove up to Smith and asked to buy the rail. They told me it is pressed onto the gun with a special machine, can't do it myself. They say leave it here and we will install the rail and no charge for the rail itself and the install. They actually apologized that it would take 3 days to get the rail from their factory in Maine.

4 days later there is a voicemail from Smith, come get your gun, its done and no charge. They also gave me a new magazine to replace the old one I left with the gun.

Colt and Smith and Wesson, in my opinion, are second to none in taking care of their customers.

Yupper, I needed to call them about a small concern I had with my new M&P 9c. It was great, I talked to a real person, she resolved my needs (without resorting to a manual or other resource).
S&W my 1st choice.

the owners manual for my 915 just came in the mail today, less than a week after my first email. I have nothing but good things to say about S&W customer service.

If other companies were half as good as S&W, we would all be much better off as consumers!
