Thumbhole stock and tang safety?

Anyone have any experience with this combination? I haven't held the rifle in person but in pictures it looks like it would be hard to wrap the thumb around up top while your hand is still on the grip, to actuate the safety.

You can do one or the other not both. Just take your thumb out of the hole, it works fine.

I've owned a couple of rifles with this feature. To be honest, it's a pain to change your grip just to use the safety. I've never noticed that the thumbhole shot any better, it just had a "cool" factor. I don't use them anymore. You can get a variety of pistol grip rifle stocks that have the same "feel" without the interfering feature of the thumbhole. Just my two cents.

My wooden thumbhole stocks are heavier, and I can get a better grip on the gun, reducing felt recoil considerably. Also, to answer your question, if I don't have time to take my hand out of the stock and switch the safety, then I just use my trigger finger.
