THe gun rags used to use real life scenarios to illustrate this point. I cannot remember the magazine but it used a good example.
Most liberals will think that the big burly male cop, even the not so big or burly male cop should be able to take down a female attacker with out using a weapon. however this real case disproves their point.
a woman was holding a big kitchen knife to a childs throat and refused to listen to police request to put knife and kid down. In the end to save the kid they had to shoot her dead. Big hubbub ensued because the male cops needed to shoot the little 120 pound woman.
now if its proven that mental illness and drugs can give a 140 pound person the ability to toss aroud a 220 pound cop whos trained in street fighting, then how is someone NOT trained in hand to hand combat expected to fight off a rampageing crack addict without useing a deadly weapon?
