They're copies of the A-75 formerly made by Astra. The difference is that the RAPs, IIRC, also incorporate a safety with the decocker whereas the A-75s only decocked.
If everything else is the same as the A-75, the gun is very good. The only drawback is its weight. The A-75 originally came all steel with an alloy frame option available later on. The all steel was very heavy for a gun of that size. From what I've heard and read, the alloy version didn't save all that much weight either. Despite this, they were very well made guns. Not the quality of a SIG or medium-high to high end guns but solidly built without and burrs or unfinished areas (at least mine).
My A-75s have functioned without any problems at all. I like the size. The mags take both 9mm and .40SW. I've been tossing around the idea of getting a RAP 401 9mm as I like the idea of the safety with the decocker. Century has them for ~$200, extra new ags $9-$14 depending if you are a Dealer/C&R.
