I was looking at one today. The first SIG I've tried that had a grip feel I liked, and a smooth DA trigger pull. However, the dealer says they're not very popular.
I own a classic Sig and a Sigpro 2340 in .40 but I switched to a .357sig barrel. Its a Sig so its a good gun. It has a better trigger pull than the classic models IMHO. The trigger pull is lighter. It isn't really as ergonomic as the classic line though. The more I shoot it the more I like it. I don't really have any complaints about it. I want a SigPro 2009 in 9mm now.
I have one on 357 SIG. At first I was disappointed with its accuracy compared to my Glock 20 but the more I shoot it the more accurate I'm getting with it although I still prefer the sites on the Glock.
Question next: Are the mags the same as for the P228/P229? Just wondering, as the only thing I dislike about the P2340 is the angled baseplate on the mags.
i think the dealers tend to market the classics more. i'm sure the pro will hold up just as well as the others. get it if it feels good to you. as you know, it's always better to shoot it too if you have the chance.
I've had a sp2009 for about 6 months and like everything about it. I will add a 2340 to the collection someday. I agree that the double action is very smooth compared to the one classic I owned.
In the end I got a HK USP 40c instead. I shot a USP and a P2340 side-by-side at the rental range and there was no contest. I'm sure SIG is a fine weapon, but the USP fit my hand perfectly and I like the control layout better.
