Thoughts on right to bear arms for your consideration.

It is my belief that the right to bear arms as stated a sanctioned by the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights is first and foremost the human right to protection.
For protection from violence be it man or beast.
For protection from the invasion of enemies.
For the protection from tyranny.
I firmly believe this is what the framers of the Constitution believed was the right of every competent United States citizen. It was the framers belief that the might and power of the people should be greater than the might and power of their government and its standing army.
Our 2nd Amendment was influenced by other documents and one of them was the Pennsylvania Constitution of 1776 which asserted that, “The people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the state.”
Alexander Hamilton stated, “If circumstances should at any time obligate the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow citizens.”
Noah Webster stated, “Before a standing army can rule the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United states.”
Patrick Henry stated, “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.”
THE FRAMERS THOUGHT THE PERSONAL RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS TO BE A PARAMOUNT RIGHT BY WHICH OTHER RIGHTS COULD BE PROTECTED.
Now concerning our present state of affairs with regard to our right to bear arms and the 2nd Amendment, the truth is there are already numerous gun regulations that have been imposed.
1. The Gun Control Act of 1968.
2. The National Fire Arms Act.
3. Arms Export Control Act.
4. Importation, Manufacture, Distribution and Storage of Explosive Materials Act.
5. National Instant Criminal Background Check System.
Also, each of the 50 states has their own laws and ordinances.
How can we the people stay on equal footing, much less be superior to, a standing army if they continue to further restrict what we the people are allowed to possess.
The fact is the gun control conglomerate is NOT interested in seeking a compromise that would work within the framework of the Constitution. Their agenda is to scrap the 2nd Amendment and rewrite the Constitution and totally disarm the law abiding American citizen.
What we need is proper and stricter enforcement of the laws we currently have and the sense to realize where the real problem lies.

Well, all that considerd, it looks like Obama is getting ready to shred the constitution. If gun owners aren't worried, they should be.
