Thoughts on Mossberg Tactical 22

Gander Mountain has them on a black friday special for $199.

Been mulling over getting one for a while, and now seeing it for less than I've ever seen one on gunbroker, kinda seems like a good xmas present to myself.

They are a 702 Plinkster with a plastic clam shell around it to look like a poor made AR.

More money.. but the S&W Mp-22 is a rock solid little gun. Co-worker at the shop has one and we take it out and shoot bricks of ammo through it, never any issues, even with bulk pack cheapo ammo. Field strips the same as an AR, uses same controls, AND locks open on the last shot.

Twice as much money.

I'm well aware there are better options out there. But nothing that's going to get me out the door with a rifle and ammo under $300.

If cheap is your goal.... personally I would just wait the extra time and save up the extra cash.

Twice the price for twice the rifle doesn't bother me. Or you can just save yourself about $100 and just get the regular 702 plinkster.

Well that's a little disheartening.

Was hoping for something worthwhile to do a little paper punching for cheaper than blasting off a bunch of .40s&w

My friend has has one. He put an EoTech on it. It's a decent gun, decent accuracy. Ergos are a little awkward, especially the magazine release. There's a flat top coming out soon which I'd prefer. It's a lot of heavy plastic on the gun, not sure how to disassemble it, but it looks pretty boxed in. I'd prefer a charging handle that worked instead of a plastic molded one that is just for looks. I'd just go for a 10/22 or 702 plinkster and have less weight.
