Thoughts on DSA STG58 rifle

Hi all! I just ordered a STG58 standard FAL Clone from DSA and was wondering what you thought of the rifle and company? Was it a good choice? Thanks!

I have never owned one, but from the research I have done they seem to be a solid company. They build tough rifles and if my memory serves me right they performed a 10,000 round torture test in, which the rifle was flawless.

I built an STG58 parts kit on DSA receiver, with some DSA parts.IMO,DSA is as good as can be had.
The FAL is a fine rifle,IMO.Tough and reliable, easy to maintain.Iron sights and my poor marksmanship, mine grouped about 3/4 wide by 1 1/2 tall groups @100yds,iron sights. As the bbl warmed up,it would walk some.I could not work much improvement on the trigger. It was quite useable, not horrid,a battle trigger.IMO,you chose well.Have fun!

DSA are well regarded generally although if you look at some of the more recent posts here and elsewhere, there has been a perceived drop in quality recently due to trouble meeting demand and a switch to using more US made parts in their guns as opposed to milspec surplus. YMMV.

DSA and U.S. parts

You need seven U.S. made parts to legally assemble an STG-58 kit. DSA has very good stuff.

For info on the laws and parts see: www.arizonaresponsesystems.com

They (ARS) will assemble your STG-58 parts into a FAL, if you provide them with your new receiver and the parts. Refinishing and barrel mods, too.
