Thought this might be worth a chuckle.

After a nice family day at the range last week, I made an interesting discovery.
I've been shooting .45's since I was 5 years old, even shooting them at my brothers pretty regularly.

I wish to share with you all the .45 NAP. (That's NERF Automatic Pistol) :p

Apparently the NERF Streamline darts have the same diameter as a .45, and can be coaxed into the case of a .45ACP.

I got a laugh out of it.
Hope you do too.
Or at LEAST a smile. :p

If you primed the case, then loaded the nerf projectile... Might make for some cheap (possibly re-useable?) basement target practice...

I've done the same with a bit of melted wax poured into the primed case, but this would be pretty neat...

These Nerfs make me nervous !!!

My Grandson has a full-auto nerf as well as a pump version. Parents sure make it hard on Grandparents who are trying to teaching muzzle control. I mean to tell you that these things can really fly all over the place. .....

Be Safe !!!

Oh, woe to those who played 'War' with us...

Well, y'all went and got me feeling nostalgic. (Didn't know that was possible for a 17 year old) :p

The following picture is the result of three boys over the timespan of 8 or 9 years.
(And these are just the ones that didn't break)

And then these three all belong to my youngest brother.
The two on the right are fully-automatic, and the one on the left is just unnecessarily fun to play with.

Yes, my brothers and I grew up doing stupid things with toy guns. (We still do)
But I'd like to believe that we know and understand the difference between toys and true firearms.
Every time I've been at the range with my brothers, they've treated the weapons with the utmost respect. Made me proud, to be honest.
I think between the Naval Officer father and USMC Drill Instructor mother, we three boys turned out alright.

The youngest was only recently introduced to shooting in it's true form, and I can't tell you how happy I was that he liked it.
(I'm just a big softy) :o

My cousin is 28 and he likes to go shooting (real guns), but he still knows there are times and places for Nerf guns. He actually has one in the office that he shoots at people. He is kinda strange though.... :)

What's the FPS on those?

It varies greatly from gun to gun, and whatever it is, is low.
Maybe 10-15fps?

Max range is usually between 30-40 feet.

All except for this one :

Thing shoots about three or four times as hard, and about 70 feet.
It's also noisy, because it's flywheel operated instead of compressed air.

My brothers just LOVE that noise. :p

This one offers the closest thing to small arms marksmanship.
The others are more like what I'd imagine launching grenades would be like, (Minus the recoil, of course), due to the much more severe arc.

I guess the point of all this is, I'm a dork and okay with it.
After all, Dorks have the coolest toys. :D
