Ahhh......
If I could only afford the ammo...
And had a place to shoot 1500 yards...
3000 fps and 8300+ ft/lbs of energy from 419 grains. YOWZA...
Supersonic past 2000 yards...

Sure is purty.
But we need to see some pics of itty bitty groups at 1000 yards :)

Forgive my ignorance, but is this used by the military or special forces? It seems it would have better long range ballistics than the 50 BMG.

There is always something "better" for a price. And sometimes the price makes it not so...

But I still think this is a newish gun and caliber.

Now if I could just get my hands on one of those rounds to add to my collection.

The round, yes...this rifle, no (at least, not to my knowledge).

The Cheytac Intevention M200 is the military sniper rifle, used by a couple of European countries. I don't think it has ever been adopted by the US military.

Ultimate toy for LR shooters...

The .50 BMG is primarily an anti-materiel round- though it'll certainly make someone disappear at a mile away. The .408 was designed as an anti-personnel round. It'll reach out further, with more than 50% more energy, than the .338 LM.

Developed around ten years ago...

I'll admit to knowing precisely diddly about the ballistics of the .408. Still, that looks like BIG fun to shoot.

Well done!

Wow thats purty.... Its what Mark Wahlberg used in the movie Shooter. They have also done shows on it... Stupid accurate. Richard Machowicz (former navy seal sniper) hit a 24" square plate at over 2600 meters...
